Animoto is an easy-to-use video/slideshow/animation app. You can sign up as a teacher and get 50 educational accounts to share with your students.  This allows them to create videos up to 5 mins long for free (whereas the limit is 30 sec for the free regular access).  See one of the digital literacy coaches if you need support on how to create students accounts etc.

  • save, categorize & tag websites & access them quickly from any device 
  • add & share notes, save images & screenshots along with the bookmarks
  • share with followers (or with groups, eg Diigo)

Never used Twitter?   You might consider starting if you want to connect with teachers interested in the same subjects you are, especially "trending" ideas (passion projects!).
  • follow experts
  • follow certain hashtags (group discussions on a topic, preceded by a <#>)
  • participate in a scheduled online Twitter chats on a certain topic
  • engage in backchannel discussions at a conference
  • share what you're doing (what's ordinary to you might be extraordinary to someone else)
  • ask questions
  • ...
Try using an app such as Tweetdeck on your computer so you can twitter activity that you are interested in.  Here are hashtags that are useful to follow:
